Where He Leads
God spoke to my heart in 2005 as I became aware of the horrible suffering and trauma inflicted upon the Acholi children of Northern Uganda by a terrorist rebel army known as the LRA.
I was compelled to respond. I John 3:17-18 spoke deeply to my heart:
“But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth” ~I John 3:17-18.
My deepest desire is to follow the leading of God to be used as He chooses; to follow Jesus’ command to go and make disciples of all nations. In 2008, I became part of the Acholi community in Northern Uganda.
My current ministry is two-fold. One aspect is to continue alongside the Acholi co-laborers that God has placed into my life. This is done through relationship building in shared ministry and by helping to strengthen and encourage them in their service, via quarterly retreats for pastors and their wives.
Secondly, I have begun work on Christ-Centered Curriculum to be used in Uganda and S. Sudan. Our goal is to develop an education system that brings the Word of God and His love to the children. As they learn to understand their world from a godly perspective, we will teach them to grasp concepts and information that they can use practically in their lives.
Our first ‘Educator Development Institute’ begins in March 2015 to train teachers as ‘missionaries’ within their own country as they dedicate their time and talents to share Jesus with suffering and often hopeless children.
Our target areas for Multi-grade Village Learning Centers are remote villages where education for the children is near impossible. We supply the educators and teaching supplies – no school fees or uniforms required. The village supplies the local structures and food.
We are beyond excited about bringing God’s Word to these beautiful children and seeing the transformation that only Jesus can accomplish.
