It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bill Moritz on March 16, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. Bill’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Bill practiced law in Colorado Springs, Colorado, specializing in estate planning, non-profit organizations and business law with the law firm of Moritz and Associates, PC
Bill also established the New Horizons Foundation, a community foundation in Colorado Springs, and served as its Executive Director and he established Joy To the World Foundation and served as its President until his death.
He is the author of Unlocking The Full Potential of Your Assets; Creative Uses of the Charitable Remainder Unitrust.
Chris Stroup, Ph.D., MCEP®

Chris came to Joy to the World Foundation in 2018 with more than 15 years of leadership experience with nonprofit organizations. He is passionate about helping pastors, charitable families, and ministries expand their impact through careful strategic planning, structuring, and execution. Chris is a Master Certified Estate Planner® and an associate member of the Independent Trustee Alliance.
Chris holds a Ph.D. in Religious Studies (New Testament) from Boston University and is an Anglican pastor. He lives in Colorado Springs with his wife and three children.
Jay Haddix
Chief Executive Officer
Jay has served on the Joy to the World Foundation board for four years and recently joined the staff as Chief Executive Officer in the Summer of 2024. Jay has 22+ years of experience in complex gift planning, estate planning and non-profit 501(c)(3) structures. He received dual degrees in Finance and Theology from Azusa Pacific University in Southern California. Jay has a heart for helping families think through how to best steward their resources, achieve their family charitable goals and limit unnecessary taxation through charitable planning tools. He and his wife Sara have two children and live in the shadow of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs. Outside of the office, he enjoys hiking Colorado’s 14,000 foot peaks and wandering in the backcountry.
